On September 22, NJ Department of Education Commissioner Dr. Lily Laux toured Beach schools with her team, members of the NJDOE's Ocean County Office, and Ocean County Commissioner Bacchione.
From the NJDOE Social Media Feeds:
"From early literacy to dual enrollment, Point Pleasant Beach students are gaining the skills and opportunities they need for success.
"Commissioner Laux visited G. Harold Antrim School to observe instruction that helps young learners become strong readers through evidence-based, multi-sensory approaches, as well as the district's inclusive, multilingual Pre-K program. At Point Pleasant Beach High School, she saw how students are expanding their academic horizons through advanced coursework and the district's Gull Flight School partnership with Ocean County College, which allows students to earn both Advanced Placement and dual-enrollment college credits while still in high school.
"Students across the district are also exploring future careers through hands-on STEM learning and real-world experiences, from K-8 engineering projects to high school courses in coding, filmmaking, television production, and skilled trades. The visit further highlighted the district's commitment to the whole child through classroom wellness strategies, behavioral supports and peer mentorship programs that help foster positive school climates.
"The visit concluded with a discussion on how community partnerships, staff wellness initiatives, and ongoing investments in facilities and technology continue to strengthen learning environments and expand opportunities for students throughout the district."
