The health and safety of our student body can greatly impact their academic success and personal growth. I am writing to keep our school community updated on an alarming and growing trend amongst teenagers at a national level and across New Jersey schools. This trend, known as “vaping” is an alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes using an e-cigarette or similar device. Because of easy concealment, e-cigarettes have quickly emerged as substitute for traditional cigarettes as well as a new method to deliver marijuana or concentrated THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. Due to the continued rise in e-cigarette and vape usage among teens, we feel that it is important to share accurate information and resources with you on this health concern. Together, we can help prevent our children from using these devices both at home and in our schools.
