Hello Parents and Guardians!
Here is some information that I thought you would find useful:
After school extra-help is offered most Tuesdays, and Thursdays in my classroom from 2:30 - 3:15 (with the exception of schedule conflicts such as meetings, or family emergencies). Please note that athletic practices do not and are not allowed to start until 3:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Even if students don't necessarily feel that they need help, they are welcome to come in and complete their math homework and check their answers to homework problems. After school help can be quite hectic sometimes, as anyone of my approximate 100 students is welcome. This year due to COVID-19, students a maximum of 15 students will be permitted in for after school help in person, and 5 students virtually. Students must sign up for after school help ahead of time. This procedure will be shared with your children. While I try to answer all students' questions, and address everyone's needs, sometimes it is impossible to give individual attention during this period. It is suggested that students who need help come into after school help with specific questions.
The best way to contact me is via email. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. I always have my email open during school hours, in addition, I usually check my school email in the evenings and before school.
If you would like to schedule a parent conference please call the guidance department (they handle scheduling the conference).
If your child is absent it is his or her responsibility to find out what they missed in class and or for homework. It is his or her responsibility to get any notes taken in class. They may copy my notes during after school help, or they are welcome to copy notes from a peer. They may also email me to find out what was missed. My general rule is that the student has the same number of days absent to complete work.
