• In Italian One, we used a relexive verb from the first day of class: CHIAMARSI.
     
    Mi chiamo Maria. = I call myself Maria.
     
    The action is done onto oneself.
     
    LAVARSI = to wash oneself
    Mi lavo = I wash myself.
     
    To make the past tense with Reflexive verbs, the format is as follow:
     
    SI  +  ESSERE  +  PAST PARTICIPLE OF VERB (- AT0, - UTO - ITO)
     
    Mi sono lavato/a. I washed myself.
    Ti sei lavato/a. You washed yourself.
    Si è lavato/a. You (formal) washed yourself.
    Si è lavato/a. S/he washed him/herself.
    Ci siamo lavati. We washed ourselves.
    Vi siete lavati. You (plural) washed yourselves.
    Si sono lavati. They washed themselves.
