    Dear Parents,

We will be starting our Mystery Guest Reading Program this year!

Mystery Readers are special guests who come to our classroom to read a story to the students.  Mystery Readers can be parents, grandparents, older siblings (18 or older), or other special relatives.  Students love to see their special family members and friends get involved in their classroom.

Once you have signed up for a date to come read to our class, you can start thinking of a book you would like to share. If you do not have a book, I would be happy to provide one for you.  In addition, each reader will be required to submit five clues about themselves.  The clues should vary from broad to specific.  I will share the clues leading up to the day of the Mystery Reader’s arrival. The Mystery Reader will not be revealed until they arrive.

My goal with this activity is to strengthen the home-school connection that is so important in helping students grow as readers.

If you or someone in your family would like to participate, please fill out the Mystery Reader form.  Your child will be very excited that you or someone in your family participated, but remember to keep it “top secret!”

Thank you for your help with this project!

    Warm regards,

    Mrs. Geiger
