2012 Antrim Peer Leaders Have Been Busy This Fall
Antrim Elementary School Peer Leaders started in August helping new students and their parents feel comfortable at Kindergarten and New Student Orientation and giving tours of the school. Then they organized a bake sale for both Back-To-School Nights, did the baking and selling. (and their was some amazing salesmanship going on!!) They had decided to do the bake sale as a benefit and were able to donate the $230 they earned to the Ashley Lauren Foundation. The mission of this foundation is to provide hope and help for New Jersey children and their families when facing pediatric cancer. During the week of September 24th, the Peer Leaders visited the K-5 classrooms to read books, lead discussions and help the classes create hall displays for Respect Week.
Our next event will be collecting Halloween costumes that children from our Antrim family have outgrown and are no longer using. The costumes we collect will them be displayed in a store-like setting and children who don't have the means to purchase a costume can come in and shop. There will be a donation box outside of the Auditorium in the main hallway.
